Frequently asked questions

How much does ParsonsHosting cost?
WordPress hosting is $50 to $225 a month (Basic $50, Business $64, Pro $96, Elite $225). The AI website builder is $28 a month. The managed website plan is $50 a month. Domains are $18 a year for .com and $24 a year for .net.
What is included in WordPress hosting?
Every WordPress plan includes staging, backups, WP Toolkit, malware scanning, and support from the people who run the servers. Higher plans include Elementor for visual editing and WooCommerce for online stores. A 30-day free trial is available at /store/wp-hosting.
What is the AI website builder?
The AI website builder is a no-code editor that runs in your browser. You pick a template, use the AI content generator to draft the words, edit them, and publish. It costs $28 a month and hosting is included. Order at /store/ai-website-builder/website-builder-basic.
What does the $50 managed website plan include?
The managed plan is $50 a month for a 5-page site: Home, About, Contact with a form, Blog, and one page of your choice. Extra pages are $50 each. If we get your questionnaire by 3:00 PM Pacific, you'll have three versions of your site to choose from the same day; questionnaires received after 3:00 PM get their three versions the next business day. Basic SEO/GEO, submission to Google and Bing, and a monthly performance report are included. You request updates by support ticket: 3 a month are included, then $25 each, and DNS fixes count as an update. We help you connect to our CDN, and your email stays where it is. Overages are $1 per GB of storage and $0.10 per GB of bandwidth, billed on the next invoice. An optional Content Editor is $500 one-time. Order at /store/managed-websites/managed-website.
Which plan should I choose?
Choose WordPress if you will keep adding to the site for years or need a store. Choose the AI website builder if you want a simple site live this week and are happy to edit it yourself. Choose managed if you would rather open a support ticket than learn any editor.
Can you move my existing website to ParsonsHosting?
Yes, and most migrations are free, whatever the size of the site and however long it takes to sync. Only server setup work or custom server-side changes cost extra, and ParsonsHosting quotes those in advance. Request a free migration, or open a support ticket at /submitticket.php with your current domain and where the site is hosted now.
Do I need to be technical to use ParsonsHosting?
No. The managed plan is built for people who do not want to touch an editor: you open a support ticket with what should change. The AI website builder needs no code. WordPress takes more learning, and support helps when you get stuck.
Do you build websites for contractors and trades?
Yes. Plumbers, electricians, HVAC, roofers, landscapers, and other contractors use the same three plans. Most trades start on the website builder or the managed plan because the site needs to show the service area, a phone number, and a quote form. See Central Oregon contractor websites.
Who answers support at ParsonsHosting?
The people who build the websites and run the servers answer support, not a call center. Opening a ticket at https://parsonshosting.com/submitticket.php is the best way to reach us. We reply the same day, 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific, 7 days a week.
Where is ParsonsHosting located?
ParsonsHosting is based in Sisters, Oregon 97759. It serves Sisters, Bend, Redmond, and the rest of Central Oregon, plus customers anywhere in the US. Work is done online and by email.
Do I have to live in Central Oregon to be a customer?
No. Customers anywhere in the US can sign up, pay, and get support online. In Central Oregon, you can also meet in person, and we come to you.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes. You can register a new domain through ParsonsHosting (.com $18 a year, .net $24 a year) or point a domain you already own at your site. Open a support ticket if you need help with the DNS settings.
Can I use Cloudflare with ParsonsHosting?
Yes. If your DNS is on Cloudflare, you'll need to add your email authentication records yourself and set SSL to Full (strict). Our guide walks through every step.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. You can start on the website builder and move to WordPress later. Moving to WordPress is a new plan and a rebuild of the site, so it helps to pick WordPress first if you already know you will need a store or many pages.
Are there overage fees on the managed plan?
Yes. Storage over the plan allowance is $1 per GB and bandwidth is $0.10 per GB, billed on the next invoice.
How do I contact ParsonsHosting?
