What is Redis caching, and does my WordPress site need it?
Redis keeps the answers to repeated database questions in memory, so a busy WordPress or WooCommerce site builds pages faster and its database does less work. At ParsonsHosting it's an optional per-account upgrade, $15/month per account with no setup fee, and our team sets it up by hand. Most sites don't need it, because NGINX caching is already on for every hosting account.

Section 01 / Is it for you
Who gets the most out of Redis.
- WooCommerce shops with carts, accounts and lots of products
- Membership, course and community sites where most visitors are logged in
- Sites with heavy plugins that run many database queries per page
- Busy admin dashboards that feel slow to editors
A small brochure site that is already fast usually doesn't need it. The NGINX page caching that comes with hosting does most of the work there. Not sure? Ask in the form below and we'll tell you honestly.
Section 02 / How it works
A per-account upgrade, set up by our team.
- You tell us which website needs Redis
- We enable a private Redis instance for your hosting account
- We connect your site (on WordPress, with an object cache plugin) and confirm it's being used
- We check the site before and after, and roll back if anything misbehaves
This is set up by hand, not a one-click switch, so a person looks at your site first. If your site needs custom server-side changes beyond a normal setup, we quote that in advance.
